The Minoan Civilization Heads to Beijing!

In just a few days, the exhibition “Minoan Civilization” will open at the Palace Museum of the Forbidden City in Beijing, showcasing treasures exclusively from the collections of the Heraklion Archaeological Museum.

The exhibition is being held at the invitation of China’s Ministry of Culture, as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Palace Museum’s founding. It offers Chinese audiences a rare glimpse into the oldest known civilization in Europe—Crete’s remarkable Minoan culture.

A preview of the exhibition space, prior to the official setup, was recently shared by Mr. Grispolakis, President of the Board of the Heraklion Archaeological Museum.

This cultural exchange marks a major step in promoting international appreciation of Crete’s ancient heritage—and in celebrating the enduring legacy of Minoan artistry, innovation, and myth.
