Forbes Highlights Cretan Beach Among Europe’s Top 15

The list features five Greek beaches, three from Spain, two from Portugal, two from Italy, and one each from Albania, Turkey, and Malta, with Malta claiming the top spot.

The top three beaches on the list include Malta, Portugal, and Turkey, with the impressive Vai beach representing Crete.

Notable Greek Beaches

Canal d’Amour, Corfu
The first Greek beach to appear is Canal d’Amour in Corfu, ranked 4th. This beach is surrounded by unusual sandstone formations that create a long, narrow channel, which is how it got its name.

Porto Timoni, Corfu
Porto Timoni is a lush paradise also on Corfu, occupying 5th place. Located in a secluded spot, it offers two shores—one open to the sea and the other to a lagoon. It’s ideal for snorkeling.

Saint Paul’s Bay, Rhodes
Coming in at 8th place is Saint Paul’s Bay, situated in the southeastern part of Rhodes. With crystal-clear waters, protection from winds and waves, and many amenities, it’s a wonderful beach for families.

Porto Katsiki, Lefkada
Ranked 11th, Porto Katsiki is located on the southwestern coast of Lefkada, 35 kilometers from the city of Lefkada, near the village of Athani. Known as “the goat beach” because it was once only accessible to goats climbing the steep cliffs.

Vai, Crete
The last Greek beach to make the list is Vai, placed 15th. Situated on the eastern side of Crete, between the capes of Sidero and Plaka, Vai boasts beautiful fine sand and pebbles. What makes Vai unique is its lush palm forest extending right to the beach.
